Story, killed in the 1950-53 Korean War and posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, to be laid to rest at Andersonville National Cemetery in Georgia on May 29, 2023. The remains, discovered at a site in Changnyeong, 264 kilometers southeast of Seoul, in 2018, have been identified as his by the Pentagon's Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency. The burial was followed by the adoption in April of a joint statement on the identification of the late soldier by South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and his U.S. counterpart, Joe Biden.
